3.5-inch SBC runs Linux on Pentium M, ULV Celeron

Arbor Technology has added a new member to its line of 3.5-inch SBCs (single-board computers). The EmCORE-i761 runs Linux on low voltage Pentium M Dothan and ultra-low voltage Celeron processors, according to the company.

Arbor says the EmCORE-i761 supports processors packaged in the mPGA478B socket format. The processor's 400MHz front-side-bus supports up to 1 GB of SODIMM DDR SDRAM. A 32-bit, 33MHz PCI expansion bus allows up to three PCI masters.

Arbor lists the following key features and specifications for the EmCORE-i761:
  • Processor options:
    • Pentium M Dothan, at 1.4GHz or 2.0GHz
    • ULV Celeron M, at 600MHz or 1GHz
  • Memory -- up to 1GB DDR SDRAM, in 200-pin SODIMM socket
  • Display:
    • Intel 852GM Extreme Graphics2 chipset
    • CRT out -- QXGA up to 2048 x 1536
    • LCD out -- 18 to 48 bit LVDS UXGA up to 1600 x 1200
    • TV out -- NTSC or PAL up to 1024 x 768
    • DVI out -- 12 bit up to 1024 x 768
    • Dual independent display mode
  • Storage:
    • Ultra DMA 33, supports 2 IDE drives
    • CompactFlash Type II socket
    • Floppy
  • Audio -- Realtek ALC655A AC97, mic in, line in, line out
  • Other input/output ports:
    • Ethernet -- Intel 82856ET 10/100 base-T supports boot from LAN
    • 6 USB 2.0
    • 2 RS232
    • Parallel
    • PS/2 keyboard and mouse
  • Expansion bus -- 32-bit, 33MHz PCI bus; supports up to three masters
  • Dimensions -- 5.7 x 4 inches (145 x 102 mm)
The EmCORE-i761 is supported by BSPs for Linux, Windows XP Embedded, and Windows CE, according to Arbor.
