Las Vegas, NV; Networld+Interop -- (press release excerpt) -- Lineo has announced that it will begin integrating third party software solutions into its SecureEdge appliance development platform. Lineo currently provides several SecureEdge OEM Internet devices including VPN Internet routers, firewalls, and network attached storage. By opening up the platform to third parties, Lineo can now offer best-of-breed software solutions to OEMs that desire additional functionality.

The first of these additional software options available on the SecureEdge platform includes InterNetShare's All Aboard! Advanced Edge Router (AER) software. InterNetShare, an Internet connectivity provider, will provide Lineo customers with the first VPN software solution to incorporate a built-in IPv4 to IPv6 transition environment, coupled with encryption, secure VPN and multimedia services. Once installed, users do not have to worry about transitioning network devices to IPv6. AER automatically configures new devices for IPv6 to preserve a customer's initial investment in IPv4 devices and add new devices with no interoperability issues. The user sees transparent connectivity, no matter where the resource is on the Internet or a VPN.
