| MontaVista adds DVD player app to Embedded Linux options |

Sunnyvale and Fremont, CA -- (press release excerpt) -- MontaVista Software, Inc. and InterVideo Inc. announced that InterVideo’s Linux DVD-playing software has been validated and optimized for MontaVista Linux.
LinDVD provides DVD playback, producing crystal clear images at full video frame rates, AC-3 5.1 channel audio and other advanced features found on high-end DVDs. LinDVD can also support hardware MPEG decoders for set-top box and PVR (Personal Video Recorder) applications.
InterVideo’s LinDVD takes advantage of much of the technology in WinDVD, the world’s most popular and most advanced software DVD player. For example, LinDVD utilizes InterVideo’s high quality DVD navigator, which has been rigorously tested with more than 2000 titles.
"InterVideo provides the widest range of popular media CODECs for MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, Windows Media Player, Real Player, and now LinDVD on MontaVista Linux," said Sheila Baker, vice president, Marketing, MontaVista Software. "InterVideo’s DVD software and media CODECs, together with MontaVista Linux, will help consumer electronics companies meet the high productivity and low power requirements of new complex consumer devices."

LinDVD is currently available from InterVideo only to consumer electronics OEMs for evaluation and integration and is not sold as stand-alone software. The Linux player software is compatible with a number of popular CPUs, including Intel IA-32, StrongARM and XScale processors, ARM, and MIPS CPUs.
InterVideo will exhibit in the MontaVista Software booth (Number A-15) at the Embedded Technology (ET) show, November 20 to 22, 2002, in Yokohama, Japan.
