Advantech is shipping a PCI-104 SBC (single-board-computer) with a 1.1 GHz or 1.6 GHz Pentium M or 600 MHz Celeron M processor. Low-power, fanless operation and a high-performance x86 processor make the PCM-3380 suitable for medical, military, transportation, and emergency services applications, according to the company.

The module incorporates Intel's 855 GME chipset, an integrated VGA/LCD controller that features an optimized "Shared Memory Architecture" (SMA) with support for up to 64 MB of frame buffer using system memory, according to Advantech. A 200-pin SODIMM socket supports up to 1GB of DDR SDRAM.

Advantech lists the following key features and specifications for the PCM-3380:

- 1.1 or 1.6 GHz Pentium M
- 600 MHz Celeron M
Memory -- 128 MB to 1 GB of DDR200/266/333 DRAM
Display:
- CRT -- up to 1600 x 1200 at 85 Hz, and 2048 x 1536 at 75 Hz
- LVDS LCD -- 2 channel 36-bit
- Supports dual display operation
Storage:
- CompactFlash Type I or Type II socket, with option for Micro Drive
- Enhanced IDE, 2 ports
Expansion -- 120-pin PCI PC/104-Plus module connector
I/O ports:
- 10/100Base-T Ethernet, RJ45
- 6 USB 2.0
- 2 serial
- LPT, keybaord, and mouse
- Audio -- AC97 2.0 compliant; connectors for line in/out, mic-in
Power consumption (max.):
- +5V -- 3.72 A, with 1.6 GHz Pentium M
- +12V -- 0.5 mA

Advantech does not specify operating system compatibility in its data sheets. However, given that the PCM-3380 is based on Intel processors and PC-compatible chipsets, it can be expected to support Linux.
