| eCos starter kit includes JTAG emulator |

Austrian JTAG tools vendor Ronetix is shipping an eCos-based embedded development "Starter Kit" that includes a small ARM9-based CPU module, a baseboard, and a JTAG emulator, The kit also comes with GNU tools, the open-source eCos operating system, and an Eclipse-based IDE (integrated development environment).
The Kit includes Ronetix's PEEDI JTAG emulator for ARM7, ARM9, and XScale processors. The company says the debugger allows fast debugging with gdb/Insight, as well as easy programming of flash, NAND flash, and DataFlash chips.

 Ronetix's PEEDI JTAG emulator The Kit also includes Ronetix's PM9261 CPU module, an SODIMM 200 format SBC powered by an ATMEL AT91SAM9261 SoC (system-on-chip). The SoC is powered by a 240 MHz ARM926EJ-S core, featuring DSP extensions, Jazelle Java engine, 16KB each of data and instruction cache, an MMU, embedded ICE, 32 KB internal ROM, and 160KB of fast internal onboard RAM.

 The PM9261 CPU module In addition to the Atmel SoC, the PM9261 module has 64MB of SDRAM, 4MB of NOR flash, 256MB of NAND flash, and 2MB of DataFlash. I/O includes 10/100 Ethernet and a "serial number chip," Ronetix says.
The Kit also includes a BB9261 baseboard. It provides an MMC/SD socket, Compact Flash socket, connector for LCD with touchscreen, audio I/O, USB device port, two USB Host ports, and two RS232 connectors.

Availability
The Ronetix EB9261 Starter Kit is available now, according to the company. Pricing was not disclosed.
