The U.K.'s 13th annual Embedded Systems Show will take place Oct. 17 and 18 in Birmingham. According to the organizers, this is the country's largest event for system engineers and embedded software developers.
EDA Exhibitions says the Embedded Systems Show (ESS) 2007 will feature a core exhibition with dozens of participants. This will include exhibition workshops that are "definitely not marketing sessions," presented by companies including Green Hills Software, MKS, Coverity, Verum, Mentor Graphics, Tech Excel, and Telelogic.
In addition to the exhibition, ESS 2007 will include a technical conference hosted by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), claimed to be Europe's largest professional body for electronic engineers. Technical conference sessions will follow four key topics:- Embedded security
- Future embedded systems technologies
- Design of dependable systems
- Model-driven software design
According to the organizers, technical presentations will be in a new format this year: one-hour advanced tutorials that "allow ... expert presenters to explore their themes in depth." Confirmed speakers reportedly include key technical personnel from Symantec, QinetiQ, Rolls-Royce, Eleksen, Cambridge Consultants, and others.
The event will also feature half-day training classes provided by Feabhas, a specialist in in teaching embedded development. Scheduled classes include an introduction to SysML, advanced skills in C programming, and developing in embedded Linux.
Admission to the core exhibition is free, while Delegates registering for the technical conference prior to Aug. 31 will benefit from a discount of over 50 percent off the full price.
