Simtec Electronics announced availability of an ARM7-based single-board computer (SBC) in ATX form-factor, together with a full Debian GNU/Linux distribution as well as a uClibc based source distribution for small footprint systems.

According to Simtec, the development board is based on a 56MHz Cirrus Logic 7500FE processor and supports up to 256MB EDO and 6MB ROM onboard memory. Other features include integrated video (up to 1600x1200 pixel resolution), ESS audio codec, 10BaseT Ethernet, serial and parallel ports, and 16-bit ISA bus expansion.

The board is supplied with 2MB of FLASH ROM containing Simtec's ABLE firmware, ready to boot the chosen operating system, Simtec said. The support disc provided with the board contains Linux kernels (binaries, patched sources, and patch sets), a Debian GNU/Linux boot disk with an easy to install disc image, and a uClibc based source distribution for small footprint systems.
