| Linux phone stack vendor touts OSiM keynote |

 A provider of Linux-based mobile phone software and development services has announced that its founder will keynote the Open Source in Mobile (OSiM) Conference in Madrid. Celunite CEO Mahesh Veerina will join first-morning plenary session keynoters from Nokia, Access, Red Hat, Motorola, Telecom Italia, and HP.
Veerina will speak on the topic, "From innovating open source platforms to delivering profitable products." He promises to "describe emerging mobile industry trends, the technology requirements of an open mobile platform, and the elements necessary to make such a platform commercially successful."
Prior to founding Celunite last year, Veerina served as a VP at Nokia Internet Communications for the small office products division. Before joining Nokia, he founded one networking software company that was acquired, and another that completed a public offering.

- Dr. Tero Ojanpera, CTO at Nokia
- Dr. Tomihisa Kamada, CTO of Access
No word whether Google representatives will speak at the conference; the search giant has long been rumored to be readying a Linux-based mobile phone stack. Last year's inaugural OSiM conference featured the surprise debut of OpenMoko, a project aimed at building a mobile phone stack exclusively from open source software.
