Real-time, embedded Linux conference finalizes agenda

The CE Linux Forum (CELF) has finalized its list of speakers and opened registration for its first-ever European conference. The Embedded Linux Conference Europe is set for Nov. 2-3 in Linz, Austria, where it will be co-located with the Real-time Linux Workshop.

Featured presenters at the CELF conference will include:

Thomas Gleixner, author of the new kernel timer system and contributor to the RT-preempt patch set, who will deliver a report on the recent kernel summit and give an overview of the real-time status of the Linux kernel
Tim Bird, chair of CELF's architecture group and maintainer of the kernel used for many Sony products, who will host a BOF ("birds-of-a-feather" session) on the status of embedded Linux
Shane Martin Coughlan, freedom task force coordinator of the Free Software Foundation, Europe, who will give a keynote on free software, licensing, and business processes

In all, about 40 presentations will be made, along with half a dozen tutorials, and three BOFs. Topics range from kernel enhancements to embedded distributions and embedded components such as graphics systems and flash file systems. Also featured are the experiences embedding Linux in actual products like TV sets and handheld devices. A complete list of events can be found here.

Meanwhile, a list of 31 papers to be presented at the Real-time Linux Workshop can be found here. These papers include case studies on real-time Linux application development and real-time Linux network implementations, and papers describing real-time Linux concepts and kernel patches.
