WIN Enterprises is shipping a low-profile, Pentium-based system aimed at developers of mid-range "networking devices" including servers, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, and "Internet appliances." The 1U rack-mountable device includes six 10/100 Ethernet ports, and comes with support for Linux.

The unit can be configured with a range of Socket 370 Celeron and Pentium processors, and up to 1 GB of SDRAM. A Mini-PCI slot supports internal expansion, and the the system accomodates one or two UDMA 33/66/100 IDE storage devices.

WIN lists the following key features and specifications for the PL-01021:

Processor -- Intel socket 370 Celeron or Pentium III processor
Memory -- two 168-pin DIMM sockets support up to 1 GB PC-133 SDRAM
BIOS -- Award BIOS with support for console redirection
Chipset -- VIA VT8606 + VT82C686 B
Storage -- IDE connector supports up to two UDMA 33/66/100 IDE devices
Expansion -- One Mini-PCI slot
I/O ports:
- Six 10/100 Ethernet; choice of Intel 82551QM or Realtek 8139C+ chipset
- Two USB ports via onboard pin-header
- Two RS232

The PL01021 is priced from $595 without CPU or memory. The company says it also offers various OEM design, customization, manufacturing, and support services.
