MontaVista loses Weinberg to OSDL

MontaVista Founding Team member Bill Weinberg has left the company to join the Open Source Development Labs in the newly created role of "Open Source Architect Specialist." Weinberg will work with Lab members, Linux users, press, and analysts as an evangelist for Linux and OSDL programs.

Weinberg has 17 years of embedded and open systems experience, with Lynx Real-Time Systems, Acer Computer, Microtec Research, and MontaVista Software. He regularly writes and speaks about real-time computing, application porting and migration to Linux, Open Source licensing, Linux adoption in international markets, and consumer electronics and handheld applications for embedded Linux. He contributes to LinuxDevices.com, E.E. Times, Applied Computing, LinuxUser, Elektronik, and Embedded Systems Europe, and has been a regularly featured speaker at conferences that include Intel Developer Forum, ESC Asia, and LinuxWorld.
