Designed with POS (point of sales) systems, kiosks, call centers, and legacy Unix applications in mind. Supports XDMCP and Direct X, and most common terminal emulators, including multiple emulator sessions to multiple hosts.
- SFT-X900 -- A SmartClient Network Appliance that can be used as a full-featured dedicated X-terminal that supports a graphical desktop manager running on a remote Linux or Unix host. Compatible with XDM, KDM, GDM, Sun Solaris, SCO Open Server, and other popular window managers. Targets POS, retail management, kiosks, data centers, warehouse management applications, and Unix/Linux training centers.
- SmartModules -- These comprise customized embedded Linux thin client solutions preinstalled on Flash modules, enabling the use of existing or third party hardware with SmartFlex's Linux based SmartClient thin client OS. Supports a broad range of boards, including Via mini-ITX motherboards, Beecom clients, the Termtec TC3350, and others.
SmartFlex also offers Linux thin client consulting and training services. The company was known as Igel LLC between 1994 and 2000, and then Igel USA until 2001, when it changed its name to SmartFlex to avoid association with Igel GmbH of Germany, which was involved in stock market difficulties at the time, according to SmartFlex founder Hans Knobloch.
